Azizi Developments Add Crystal Lagoon To Riviera

The largest private developer in Dubai, Azizi Developments, has just announced that it will be constructing a gigantic crystal lagoon in its MBR City Riviera project. This lagoon will resemble a massive swimming pool and will stretch for over 2.7 kilometers and cover an area of over 130,026 square meters.

Azizi’s lagoon will be a bustling place where residents can take leisurely strolls along the beach-like shoreline, sunbathe, and cool off in the crystal clear, desalinized, and clean water that covers the floor. The lagoon walk will also contain a wide selection of artisan cafes and retailers.

Investors and end-users of Azizi Developments’ flagship 71-building, 16,000-residence waterfront community project in the highly sought-after MBR City are shocked to learn that the company has secured authorization from Nakheel, the master developer of the region, to include a lagoon in the development.

When Mr. Farhad Azizi, CEO of Azizi Developments, made the news, he said, “It is uncommon that we get to give so much value, at absolutely no extra expense to our loyal consumers, in the form of such a tremendous surprise. We’re thrilled to share the news that MBR City’s Riviera neighborhood will soon include a sparkling lagoon of its own. After years of preparation and the participation of many of our loyal stakeholders, we are pleased to announce that this magnificent body of water, which is guaranteed to increase Riviera’s property values and rental incomes, will be constructed within the next year. We’re delighted that this will make Riviera a more interesting place to visit and live.

Instead of a canal that would have carried murkier sea water that wasn’t safe for swimming, a lagoon will be built, giving inhabitants greater access to the ocean and providing more beautiful scenery in the background of their houses. Retailers that have invested in space along the lagoon’s promenade will also be pleased by the news, as the lagoon will bring more customers and increase the area’s prominence.

When completed, Azizi’s Riviera waterfront lifestyle community project in the center of MBR City will have more than 16,000 houses overlooking not only the new lagoon promenade but also a wide retail boulevard and Les Jardins – a lush-green gathering area. Riviera is a popular development by Azizi Developments because of its proximity to the new Meydan One Mall, the Meydan Racecourse (site of the Dubai World Cup), and other important commercial, recreational, and retail areas in Dubai. Riviera is a new landmark destination that will add distinctive value to the real estate market in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The European culture brought to Dubai is more than simply architectural beauty; it’s also a celebration of life and exultation of the soul.

In Dubai, a crystal lagoon of 130,026 square meters and 2.7 kilometres will be completed in 12 months. Azizi Developments has confirmed that their project for the Riviera neighbourhood in MBR City is progressing as planned.

Farhad Azizi, CEO of Azizi Developments, recently announced that their previously announced crystal lagoon might be delivered earlier than expected. Since we’d rather under-promise and over-deliver than the other way around, we’ve included buffers into our projected completion dates. We are excited to share that the revised anticipated delivery date for our crystal lagoon in Riviera is the first or second quarter of 2023.

In 2019–2020, Azizi updated their concept for the Riviera to include the crystal lagoon. (Tilal Al Ghaf by Majid Al Futtaim Communities and Hartland by Sobha both have similar bodies of water.)

Work is progressing on the two massive pump rooms, and excavation has started on the lagoon in front of the Phase One section at Riviera. More than 51.5 million gallons of desalinated water will be poured into the lagoon when construction is finished, making it a popular place for locals to go swimming. The area will be accessible by a “lagoon walk,” with a wide selection of locally owned restaurants and shops.
